Building partnerships
For the public sector and NHS bodies, outsourcing human tissue storage and processing is a cost-effective option. Biovault has unrivalled expertise in building successful partnerships, and has extensive experience in providing support to organisations who have outgrown their in-house capacity.
From inception, Biovault was conceived as a reproducible model and, by leveraging our proven expertise, we can create regional tissue banks in your area quickly and cost-effectively, each employing our fully compliant processes and systems.
Working with the UK National Health Service (NHS)
Biovault is proud to be the processing and storage facility for the South-West Peninsula Transplant Service, providing support to their cell therapy services. Our facility works closely with University Hospitals Plymouth, Torbay & South Devon, and Royal Cornwall Hospitals, where collections and transplants take place. We have capacity and expertise to provide this service to other trusts as a temporary or permanent arrangement through a tried and tested approach, which can be tailored to each individual Trusts needs and budgets. Partnership with Plymouth Health Innovation Alliance
The Plymouth Health Innovation Alliance’s purpose is to stimulate greater health research, innovation and economic growth in the City of Plymouth and the surrounding South West region, utilising the area’s health, business and research base and its specific, differentiated population and geographical assets to develop products, technologies, services and approaches of national and international importance. Biovault is a founding member and active contributor to this alliance.
Collaboration with Universities
Biovault, have in conjunction with Innovate UK been involved in numerous Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs). We have been able to provide a commercial space to enable research projects to come to fruition within industry.
Biovault has also worked in collaboration with the UK Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 with a fully funded PhD project looking at the expansion of clinically relevant cell populations from cord blood.
